Located just a couple of miles from Three Sisters Springs, Sweet Citrus Acres is in prime territory for experiencing Crystal River’s famous manatees. During the winter months, hundreds of these gentle giants gather in the clear spring waters. You can kayak, snorkel, or swim alongside manatees—an unforgettable Florida wildlife experience that’s truly bucket-list worthy.

🚣 Access to Other Florida Springs

The beauty doesn’t stop at Three Sisters. Just a short drive away, you’ll find other iconic Florida springs like:

🎣 For our Bass Fishing Friends

If you're a bass angler, you'll appreciate that Sweet Citrus Acres is located just about an hour from the Harris Chain of Lakes, a top Florida fishing destination. You can hit the water in the morning and be back relaxing in the hot tub by evening. Also, Rainbow River just 15 minutes away has tremendous populations of bass.

Insider Tips from Our Stay in Crystal River

One of the things we loved most about staying at Sweet Citrus Acres was its small-town charm. Everything you need is close by, without the traffic and chaos of Florida’s larger cities.

Here are some local spots we discovered that made our stay even more enjoyable:

🍅 Tony’s Produce Market

Just a few miles from the resort, Tony’s Produce Market offers incredibly fresh produce. The cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelon were some of the best we’ve ever had. It’s a perfect stop if you like to stock your RV with fresh, local finds. It's one of the first things I look for when I get to a new town.

💅 One Nails – Quick, Affordable, and High Quality

Ladies, if you need a fill, A-T Nails is where it's at! The owner, Mai, did an acrylic fill with gel polish in 30 minutes for just $35—and yes, they honor appointments.

🍽 Great Local Dining

You won’t go hungry in Crystal River. Some of our favorites included:

  • Bayside Craft Kitchen – A must-try for fresh coastal cuisine

  • Seafood Seller – Often running BOGO oyster specials (we grabbed raw oysters to grill at the RV site!) Check out the recipe HERE!

  • Thai Phoon – Incredible Pad Thai . I had it 3 times while we were there.

Final Thoughts: Is Sweet Citrus Acres RV Resort Worth the Stay?
